Meet John Hyland, a financial consultant, fellow triathlete and friend of a friend. He is undergoing chemotherapy for Myelodysplastic Syndrome, a condition that affects the bone marrow and the blood cells it produces. My friend Ann sent me this picture of her longtime friend which she titled “So what’s my excuse?”. This is one of those pictures that is better than a thousand words. If John can suck it up and train while getting Chemo, certainly I can brave the cold, get up a little early or still work out when I might not feel “well”!
